Just a short note Gentlemen,
I did make a few contradictions that I've neve returned to correct. They were not done on purpose. I was and am very aware that Texas allows one to register for whatever amount you wish to pay for. I somehow, during the various points between different states, used the wrong modifier. I checked in a few times and saw this being discussed, and correctly stated and so didn't bother to respond. As it has been pointed out numerous times since then, I thought I'd set the record straight on that.
The only other issue that I intended to return for months ago, is that everyone continues to haggle over what rules applie to private, versus commercial, not to mention how upsetting it was to Wadcutter. I think most are fairly intelligent enough to understand what he said time and time again, fed rules don't apply to private haulers, but still he never sent us to the magic rulebook that everyone is searching for. All it would take to resolve that concern, is for someone to post what book of laws, which pamphlet, which state articles or federal codes applie, and lists all requirements including weights, to PRIVATE RV's, towed or driven. That's it.
Other issues have come and gone, and there will still those who might encounter the odd situation with some LEO misinterpreting what applies.
Long overdue, and maybe actually a dead horse, but he also could not get over that fact that, even though in ILLI friggin NOIS, that DOT folks are not the same as State Troopers even though, since in many states they ARE, in some way or another under THE Department of Transportaion, and not just the road repair crew, and so just deal with the fact that it has become a nation wide nickname for Troopers that deal with weight limits, so get over it already. We'll call them all that if we want. LOL. I do miss his need to get the last word in when someone made his blood boil.
Great discussion. Later
