Back in the day when we had our old Puma 30FQSS and F250, we hauled the EZ-Go in the bed of the truck everywhere. We're in central NC and we hauled that cart in the bed to Disneyworld and multiple beach trips. Probably 5000 miles or more and never had a roof issue at all. No straps or anything.

So as others have mentioned, a ratchet strap or two should be more than enough.
