This is along the route of what some of us here do with the class 8 tucks and then carry another mode of transportation on the back of the truck and still pull a camper, our way of not overloading a pickup. I would like to see inside the truck, did they do anything special inside?

Quite a fair bit with the truck without posting too much information on this forum. Very extensive payload and equipment. Scania is not a Class 8 but a MDT

Next step up from the aspect of Payload from a US HD Pickup is a Japanese 4x4Light Truck

Seems silly to insist on putting the boat on top. Much more logical would be to make the truck into a motorhome and pull the boat trailer...if you want more storage the front of the boat trailer could be outfitted with storage boxes.

Looking at the toys he has, the Dodge never had any issue pulling the toys...just putting the boat on the roof was a problem.

Also, while they might not give him a hassle on dirt roads in the outback, I suspect he will be overweight if he tries to pull 66k lbs... Of course, if it's about chest pounding, I saw a stock toyota tacoma tow the space shuttle, so 66k lb is nothing.

Wrong on ALL points you raised Boat on the truck is essential to towing over a rough road.; He had a RAM 6.7 Diesel as he states it was 1.3 tonnes overweight, putting the boat on the roof is not a problem. He is not going to be overweight just pulling that Caravan. Previous poster mentioned that they use Class 8 trucks to pull 5th wheelers, do they need them? Yes they do as they have realised that a very large 5th wheeler needs a substantial tow vehicle rather a HD Pickups

Ryan is touting a usage that is unique to his area and has little cross over in our part of the world. The big island on which he sits is limited to certain internationally sold vehicles that are adapted for their use. We see more specialized vehicles made for our area due to volume of our demand.

I think the previous poster , has sour grapes. No we not limited to" internationall sold vehicles" as we get vehicles from all over the world plus domestically produced trucks
We use what from domestic, European, Japanese and US Pickups works best in the situation.
In the US, you do not get our Domestic, all European, most Japanese Trucks that we get here.
We do from my observation get many more specialised vehicles, due to variety than you can obtain in the US

Of course his RAM 3500 (not sure why you capitalize it, secret envy?) is overloaded by putting a ski boat on the roof. Pickup trucks weren't made to haul motorboats on their roofs, silly!

And btw, wth is that trailer hitch? Seriously, is that a down under design with the little teeny ball on top?
