Just traded my 2008 Jayco Jay Flight 19BH for the new 2012 Jayco Jay Flight 26BH. Love it so far, first trip coming up this weekend.
We rented one of those over Labor Day weekend... Nice unit! :)
Thanks. You towed it with a Nissan Pathfinder v6? I had one of those but with 4WD. The hitch rating was only 600 lbs. and the 26BH will have between 800 and 900 lbs when loaded up. How did you get around that?? Did you just load the SUV instead and fill the water tanks from the campground's potable water?
Glad it's working out for you.
Enjoy your rig. :)
Thanks!
The unit was brand new and empty, and we didn't bring along a whole lot. I put as much in the trailer as I could, which left us with an estimated 900 lbs of payload capacity left before GVWR. The V8 has a 700 lbs tongue weight so I wasn't worried if we were a little over the 600 lbs since the reciever is integrated into the frame of the truck the same in both.
We towed it about 450 miles with the first half a little more tongue heavy than the second (shifted weight around for the trip back). The trip started pretty windy, but overall the Pathfinder towed pretty well. I feel the trucks passing, but it wasn't as bad as I expected it would be.
I hope it will tow the new unit faily similar or better, if not we'll be looking at a new TV in the near future. I plan to weigh everything before leaving on the trip home too so we'll have good numbers to reference.
