thats a good gear ratio - probably have no problem towing that load and yet you still get the benefits of reasonable mpg.
those Mag-Hytec's are nice covers, increased fluid capacity and finned which both contribute to extra cooling and increased longevity! its an ADDED bonus that they have a (proper) drain plug and most also have a dipstick for checking the level. Nice touch & a worthy mod!
I've always liked how the Mag-Hytec looks. AAM is certainly capable of designing an axle that doesn't need one, but I do like the added insurance of extra cooling and ease of service. I think it looks really cool, too! I also have the matching transmission pan, and my previous 1500 had them too.
