Not near the power of my 06 5.9, but much more stable going down the road. It is nice to have a stick, so much better than the old 4spd auto.

Sorry Camp with Critters for the bad math. I guess I hit the wrong button on my calc. $571 is a lot better.:S I didn't mean to talk down to anyone, and if that's the perception I gave, I apologize. I truly think he has a really nice rig, and I'm glad he can afford it. I got the 7 mpg figure from a class A post by an owner with the same size cummins who was complaining that he got around 7 mpg at 65 mph.

Some folks can afford to cruise around in a luxury yacht that is far more expensive to operate than any RV - to each his own. There's nothing wrong with that, it's just a fact of life. I'd be a little envious of that lifestyle too.

I camped for years with just a motorcycle and a tent (and I was grateful to just be out in the wild and enjoy this great country), so what I've got now is a big upgrade from those days. I'm happy with my little camper, in fact my DW and I might be fulltiming in it before long, but at least that beats living under an overpass as some do. It's just facinating to campare how different people live. It's interesting to note that no matter how much money one has, we all enjoy the same blue sky, crisp mountain air, and warm campfire. The best things in life can be enjoyed by all. :)

Glad to hear we really are on the same page Chip, been there done all that myself too. Motorcycle with tent, pop-up, hybred, and 3rd 5th wheel now. As you stated all of it beat living under that overpass! You have a well balanced rig there for your uses, but you might want to upgrade to something a little bigger for full-timing. The A-liner can get tight for 2 during extended periods.
I am sure the future will bring us alternative tow vehicles/rigs and they will likely seem more affordable than those on the market right now, as well as being more friendly to our environment.
See you on the road some where, you are welcome to park right next door to me if you need shade or a wind break.

Thanks Guys! I am getting a little older and have worked very hard in my lifetime...maybe not spending as much time with my family as I should have. So, getting the time to use the new toys with my wife and twin teenage boys will be fun. Before we know it they will be gone. The wife and I love the RV'ing lifestyle and this truck should serve us for years to come. There are a lot of good people out there in the RV world we run into everytime we are out. I am always the first to help fellow camper's and RV'er with what ever they need help with. Happy travels!
