Shocks for tow vehicle

I  have a  2007 GMC 2500 Duramax to tow our Fox Mountain with. It's time for new shocks for this heavy load and would like to find out some preferences.

  • I bought  the truck used.  I'm just seeking other experiences with shock choices.

  • How has it handled the load before they wore out? If it did a good job, I wouldn't fix what isn't broke...just get ones with the same ratings.

Guessing if they weren’t broke (blown) then he wouldn’t be looking to replace.
or maybe just thinks they need to be replaced.
“Ratings” are what?  Unless looking at custom shocks with adjustable comp and rebound damping I’m not aware of specific ratings.
OP if you need new shocks and plan on another 100k minor more, Bilsteins are the go to for value and longevity.
Otherwise Rancho 9000s if you want adjustable.
otherwise there are many that are more economical. Or larger diameter for more damping and rebound. Like Fox or King etc.
