We have owned two Hallmark Cuchara 9.5 pop-up’s, a 1994 we bought when it was two years old and now a 2011 we factory ordered new.
The quality on both was great but the one piece roof and side wall construction on the 2011 is a huge improvement in both materials and design. I don’t know that you could find a better or stronger construction design, it is certainly not a stick built as the wood or aluminum “your choice” is not the structure.
I’ve never had a bad experience with the people at Hallmark; I have to believe that they treat their customers the way they would want to be treated. I’ve really never had any issues with ours that needed factory service even though I live less than a hour away, but I still stop in a few times a year just to say hello to them. We have camped at altitude in high winds when winter ice fishing and never had any issues with keeping the inside warm. The Mylar soft wall wasn't an option in 2011; I would centrally look at it but have never felt the need for better insulation anywhere on our 2011.
All Hallmarks are custom builds and we added a lot of options to our 2011 even though it comes loaded. One of them I like the best is the “rear porch” it really adds to the safety and ease of going in and out of the campers smaller door. I think the only thing I would change if I did it over again would be to get the cassette toilet instead of the RV/ black tank type toilet.
We have been retired now for four years and the DW has really been putting the arm on me to go to a Fifth Wheel or a Class A. If we do I’m really going to miss the pop-up.
For what they cost, I hope you got a personal massage when you picked it up....lol
Way beyond my price point. If I bought another one, would be a Northstar.
