A sharp 1/8" drill bit and a cordless drill.
Just push until the chuck is touching the screen and the spot will be gone.

I too had this problem, but I discovered that it was easily fixed by setting fire to it.
But only if whacking it with a mallet, prying on it with a screwdriver, and drilling a hole in it don't work first.
If fire doesn't do it then you move on to pulling out the big guns (Literally. I had to resort to this level of intervention with an electronic musical doorbell on a house I once owned that refused to cooperate), then finally.........explosives.
I've never had to resort to that final level.

I checked that thread and even though it starts out making a very specific and identifiable point - I still have to stand my ground and say "Point not taken!" Is it still there? - JoeChiOhkiExplorer III too had this problem, but I discovered that it was easily fixed by setting fire to it.
