07 Silverado
Anybody towing with a 07 Silverado LT Z71 2wd crew cab 1500 5.3l V8 rear axle ratio 3.42. If so what are you towing and what is the UVW?

I'm going to try dropping it in 3rd the next time we hit the hills and see what she does but I'll also have to keep an eye on the transmission temp when doing so. I'm looking at upgrading to a 3/4 or 1 ton this spring...it seems we pack more and more every trip and I'm sure we are going to exceed payload (if we haven't already).
I would recommend you tow in 3rd all the time with that truck, it will actually lower trans temp. When I try towing in D the temps raise up quickly, the higher your rpm the faster the fluid exchange in the trans.
