So when you say he found "signs of cavitation" can I assume that he did not find a hole all the way through the front cover? If so, it's not fixed yet. I agree with others that say it "could" be an oil cooler problem or a head gasket problem. Either way, it's bad news.
If so, get it fixed or this is what's going to happen.
