1 ton dually or Medium Duty for large 5er?
We're looking at large 5ers and these things are HEAVY. I know a 1 ton dually diesel will get them moving down the road and that's not what I'm worried about. I'm worried about getting the rig stopp...

Not in every state. NY does not recognize that. HDT, MDT, & LDT all have to be titled and registered as commercial vehicles, regardless of amenities. The only differences are registration cost (based upon truck GVW) and insurance. Just for giggles, I did online quotes (Progressive) for both an MDT and HDT. As the purchase prices were almost identical ($50k) the quotes were too ($1200/yr).
