109,000 Plus Mile Ecodiesel

Not sure why there would be an issue getting air suspension parts, but I'll take you at your word. The 2014 trucks seem to be the ones with the issues, exhuast leaks 2wd trucks, some EGR cooler failures and the ticking time bomb that is improperly torqued #4 & 5 rod bolts.

All 2014 trucks and the rod issue is sadly a unknown number of engines that had got out without traceability! I bet someone got fired over that one!

Part supply is for the most part a non issue now but engine supply is. Ram still only is allowing a three day window for ordering the Ecodiesel per month. As demand is higher than supply. Most trucks ordered for dealer stock are only on the lot 4 to 6 weeks before being sold.

So far other than two mirror trim issues mine has been rock solid and is not the turtle some would like everyone to think they are. Off the line I have not found anything that can touch it (pickup and suv that is!). As for comfort you can't touch it and this thing can get from Perrysburg Ohio to Mississippi on a tank of fuel driving 77 mph. Try that in a gasser!

I know of one owner with the air suspension problem that was told no parts to fix the problem so a new ford was the fix.

Great observations Don. Is the parts supply still an issue with the EcoDiesel? If I had an ED I personally would not do mods to it...I would just drive it as is.

It's a resilient motor for sure.

I have a hard time believing what he said concerning FCA denying warranty because the owner didn't buy fuel from the dealer. That just sounds crazy.

I have not read any fuel realated issues via the cp4 fuel pump...I really expected to see a lot of failures reported...but I am not seeing them.

Seems most of the issues with the ED are parts supply related at this point...but that may be old data.

Nope this is a guy that IMO is lucky to even hit that mileage in the first place. He is a joke and has heavily modified his trucks EGR system, intercooler, has a tuner and has had many issues with those mods.

The other side of that coin, it does show how robust that VM engine is despite what people have tired to do to it. As a side note he has a expediting service and has a complete spare drivetrain sitting in his shop......or so he says lol.

I agree with that... I enjoyed about the first hour of the video the second hour was near useless. Took me several days to watch it in pieces.

The last 10-15 minutes are pretty entertaining. LOL

It's used 5 gallons of antifreeze in 100K? Plus the guy is a complete tool; the last 10 minutes are a gem.

Utah at night with out a gun seems ok with me to have a cannon.
