A survey was done a few years ago that showed the average RVer adds about 1200 pounds of stuff over dry weight.
But we can guess and argue all day long. Spend $15 at a CAT scale. Then you will know exactly where you stand with respect to all your ratings.
Your Tundra has value. A similar vintage 3/4 ton gas truck has similar value. You may not want a used truck, but you can afford something with more capability. Do you need it? Do you want it? Would I do it? Start with the scale and decide for yourself.
Do yourself a favor and LISTEN TO THIS ADVICE. Guys who tell you that "you're fine because folks don't know what a Tundra can do", or that "you need a 3/4 because that trailer is big", or that "numbers don't matter if it tows fine" are just talking out of their a**.
Get it weighed and then you will know what the right answer is based on the facts. Towing over GVWR is not a safety issue but means extra wear and tear on the vehicle and will increase repair costs. Towing over either the tire or axle ratings IS a safety issue and should be avoided.
