12 volt refrigerator nova cool skinny big fridge's

I am investigating again the 12 volt option. I am sure these new models that nova kool have, are skinnier than before. Check this one out, it appears that it will easily fit in my old fridge spot and easily fit through the Truck Camper door. I need the Cubic Feet as we have six kids and six grand kids and more coming. When ever we are around we bring lots of food. My wife loves cooking etc.

this link is suppose to say skinny 12 volt fridge.

Skinny 125 volt fridge

Check out there models at this website.

Their website.

and I do not have anything to do with them other than love their skinny refrigerators.

One other question. Do you think the venting requirements would be meant by the existing venting for the propane unit. I am thinking yes. Am I wrong?

What do you all think.

Thanks
Dave
  • question ,won,t a 12v unit eat up a lot amps? I think it would run a battery down real quick. if boone docking.
  • I tried a DC compressor fridge once and it did not work well for me because it ran continuously. I think the problem was the fan and area was set up so that most of the air the fan moved was just circulating and I wasn't getting enough draft through the original vents to keep the efficiency up.

That was several years ago and I'm thinking about trying again this time doing things a bit different. The main thing will be that I will add baffles so the fan also forces the air flow through the compartment. If that isn't possible, will add a temperature controlled secondary fan to force air through the compartment. Or a combination of the two. By keeping the air cooler, it will increase the efficiency which will reduce run time.

Dave, before I when with a compressor refrigerator I looked for one that would fit through my camper door and fit within the cabinet space that my existing refrigerator occupied To make installation as easy as possible. As far as using exiting venting,it's worked fine for me since 2013.
There are several TC owners that have already go to a 12Vdc compressor refrigerator just on this forum.
