Yes the A/C will come on but when it reaches the temp set and shuts off it will NOT turn back on. Same with the fridge.
Which gives the owners a false sense that the 12 volt is not needed.
I know nothing about the A/C, but the above is absolutely untrue with my fridge, and many others of that vintage. I guarantee it. In fact, when I got my trailer, it didn't even HAVE a battery setup. Only 12v power source was through tug connection or via converter. The fridge runs on propane without any electric input, and the only 12v input is for direct 12v operation.
