Anytime a new design comes out than the previous model will drop in value a bit as the masses come to trade in their now outdated model in for the new one. If the vehicle you're looking at is a Dodge well then their redesign on the 2500s was for the 2013 model year so I would pick that over the 2014 for the rebates because nothing major is changing (unless you want factory air ride suspension)

The 3500 had MAJOR updates in 13. The 2500 is getting them in 14, not 13.
If you are going to sell in a couple years, the newer model year will be worth more. However, you stated you keep them a long time, 10 plus years. If so, then not much difference in value.
