Yes the Landcruiser is used heavily as a tow vehicle in Australia.

As usual Toyota dominated the sales charts with five vehicles appearing in the top 10. The HiLux ute lead the charge with 3742 sales, which was good enough to make it the highest selling vehicle in the country, again beating and extending the overall lead over its arch-rival the Ford Ranger (3076).
The Toyota Corolla with 3208 and the Toyota Camry with 2385 sales were the second and fifth highest selling vehicles respectively.

Weirder still Australia is the 4th largest Global Market for the BMW Mseries
Weirdness all round 4th highest market for the BMW M series
