15+ F150 - Breakaway Cable anchor?

For those with a current model F150, any recommendations on where/how to anchor the breakaway cable?

I've never liked anchoring it to the hitch, as it would do no good in the case of a hitch failure, but the manner in which the hitch is integrated into the bumper in my 2019 F150 is making it hard to find a distinct location to anchor the cable.
  • put an extension on it, run it through the back window. then you can hold, like the pin on an anti tailgating granade
  • The engineers put tow hook rings on the hitch and not on the vehicle frame for a reason. Convenience and safety. Don’t try to think outside the box. Use a clasp/hook device and attach to the safety chain anchor rings.
  • Hook it to anything but the trailer itself. If the hitch "fails" on your '15+ F150 then you may have bigger issues at that particular moment.
I'd guess somewhere around 99.9% of trailers never come un-hitched nor odes the hitch break unexpectedly. And of the 0.01% that do have an issue, 99% of those cases are from the hitch being improperly connected somehow.
So if you have your bases covered, there is a 0.00001% chance you'll need the breakaway anyhow.
