Congrats OP... Sure is a nice truck.
I just sold my gas hog V10 dually, over capable truck for what we need and I'm going back to a half ton... Happy day watching that buckboard riding truck drive away. I'll never own another one unless I have a monster trailer.
BTW.. not feeling the trailer is not always a good thing.
I had a half ton F150 with P+ tires on it. Made a huge difference in the way it rode with my 6500 lb travel trailer.
Only issue with half tons is payload. Keep the trailer a reasonable size, keep the tongue weight reasonable, and a half ton makes a FINE Tow Vehicle.
I have seen a lot of 2500's with payload ratings within a few hundred lbs of a 1/2 ton... I have also seen 2500's with nearly 3000 lbs of payload.
I'm just saying that there is not a one size fits all answer.
The sales numbers show that 1/2 tons work fine for a lot of consumers.. but not for all.
