1500 or 2500 Silverado

I have that exact same setup I have a 2003 aruba 27sks comes in right at 7K loaded pulling with 2002 gmc 5.3Liter 1500 4 speed tranny, 4.10 rearend given the choice I would much rather pull with the 2500hd my half ton does well on flats but when I sometimes get into the hilly regions of Northern michigan I am twisiting that motor at about 3-4K rpms and I know I am right at or over a little on my payload capacity when all packed and ready to go camping with pets, fuel, wood, etc. So given the choice for future long haul trips through mountainous regions I think I would go with the 2500 HD.
