18" Equal-i-zer Shank - Hitching with Tailgate Down?

I would think that ya could just aim the truck where ya wanta go and plan on no turns , what could go wrong . I did see a 4 wheeler in the bed with tailgate off and the owner had put 2x8s under the rear wheels that stuck out only about 6 inches . Worked for him !
