19.5 wheel upgrade questions?

I posted this under tow vehicles but several people said it was a common discussion in this forum.

I have a 2003 Dodge 3500 Cummins. Really love this truck and plan to keep it a long time as a TV and a daily driver.

I converted from Dually to SRW, it would be nice to regain some of the payload and stability.

So my questions about this upgrade are; is it considerably more bone rattling when running empty and do the tires really last 100,000 miles?

thanks

  • another question: Does anyone know how much you can safely air the 19.5s down?
I've got them on my 4500 and have been thinking of taking it out on the beach.
  • I have the Vision 19.5 with the Michelin XDS 2 245/70R/19.5

Also SRW, see sig line for camper.

Yea, they do ride a little rough when not loaded, but you can air them down to 40/50 psi when not hauling.

I have done many upgrades to the rear suspension, but this by far was the best. Safety, and you can get 70/80 k out of these if you take care of them. I have 20k on mine, mostly with camper, and they are showing minimal wear.

    Pricey, but well worth it.
