Yesterday I stepped out and looked Lil' Queenie over - took a snapshot of her freshly prepped dinette post.

The ring at raised floor level is the bronze+clear coat piece, while the floor and dinette flanges are gloss black, the table flange also has the clear coat. That should help prevent visible chips and scratches.
The post is larger, heavier, and of better quality overall than are the modern style posts. The lever you see is used to pop the pressure between post and flange so you don't have to pull and twist.
Soon I'll have plenty of spare time to spend with her once more.
