I have 25 handles and 23 doors, but the one tiny door I made for the grey-water dump-valve handle-access is too small to fit a big handle good and make it look right. So I found a suitable knob in my coffee can of "handles".
It's a brown painted silver metal, like a pot metal. Notice it here in this photo? I mean if you can get your eyes past the spray cans?

So DW had this paint from previous projects. I'll spray the knob with brass and let it dry good. Then I'll spray it with bronze and wipe it off for a similar match to the rest of the hardware. We'll keep our eyes open and someday buy a little metal knob that has a matching flower motif to the other handles.
Here are the handles and hinges after cleaning. Notice on some there is quite a lot of the cream or white colored paint still visible in the hardware recesses. On others it is completely worn off and the hardware is just brass.

The handles retained more white paint than have the hinges.
Handles and hinges lined up for spray...

Spray the intended parts with bronze...

Wipe off everything that doesn't look like antique brass.

That was a lot of work. I didn't have much time for taking pictures once the paint was on. It dries pretty fast and you have to be careful not to wipe too hard where you want it to remain, but enough thinner on the rag and just the right pressure to clean the raised brass. Today I can assemble doors.
