1987 Real Lite Travel Trailer Owners Manual

I just bought a 1987 Real Lite Travel Trailer and I'm looking for a owners manual to learn how to use it. For example does it have a fresh water tank or does it have to be hooked to a hose all the time. How do I use the toilet, what do I have to do to set it up. How do I get fridge, furnace , water heater to work ect. I have never had a camper before so any thing would help me tons. Thank you in advance.
  • It is obvious you need a friend, with RV experience, or person recommended to help you get started. Most of these things, operation of your camper are quite simple once shown.

An actual owners manual on that age camper is not going to happen, but appliance downloads, going by serial numbers, or model numbers should still be online.

  • There is probably not an owner’s manual as such. Google and YouTube will be your friends.
Make a list of all your appliances with model and serial numbers etc. in the RV and then Google each for operation, trouble shooting, parts etc.
For operation of the components, check on YouTube for the different areas, water, fresh and waste, electrical, 12 volt battery and 120 volt, shore power.

The components (fridge, water heater etc,) of most RVs are all made by just a few different manufacturers and then mounted in the RV box by the RV manufacturer. We were fortunate with ours to have an RV owners manual, actually a medium sized brief case with with two small books for the Winnebago portion and then copies of owners manual for every component Winnebago installed in it.

  • RV manufacturer’s manuals are not usually helpful. I’d suggest some general new RV online reading first. Then appliance specific by fridge, heater etc. manufacturer.
