Hi Dtaylor - Yes, I've thought about that aspect and if I do this axle re-location I may consider that once I get everything apart and see what it's condition is.
I'm hesistating on all of this becuase I just bought this rig and didn't anticipate tearing into the suspension this year. I wanted to give it a good cleaning inside and seal the roof seams good and then try to get out with it once or twice before winter sets in. Seems like I'm always finding other things to do to it though (I know that's all part of owning an RV)
However, the axle re-location will also help me address one of my current main issues, that being needing an extended drop hitch shank, because when I towed it home, it was nose-high, probably at least an inch, maybe two. If I bought the extended drop shank and got the rig level when hitch to my Expy, the back of the trailer would be raised at least some.
However, just how much is unknown and even at that, it still might drag the rollers on my driveway when I'm backing it in and then I'll have spent $100+ dollars and still have clearance issues.
Believe me, I'd rather not fool around with it right now, because I have other issues pressing like re-sealing the roof seams, but I can't use it with the hitch shank I have now anyway so I need to address this either with an extended drop shank and hope it cures my clearance issues or do the axle re-location for $60 or so and then I could retain my existing shank.d
Edit: Just read the reply about the concrete blocks, that's a legitimate concern, however I would still use 4 jack-stands along with the blocks as a fail-safe in the event one did fail. THe blocks I have are nearly brand-new and structurally sound so I think they will be OK.
Thanks again.
