If you're going to be doing some extensive work under the rig, get it cribbed and supported good. I don't use cement blocks because I had one crack once. That was my warning I figure.
I bet one of these Harbor Freight Slide calipers would get your measurements right on. As was posted above, plan on buying new hardware. It is easier and you'll probably need a few pieces anyway.
