The caribou is a very nice camper. Mine is a 94 and has all the bells and whistles. Not sure what your budget is like but you can pick up an early 7.3 F350 dually very cheap. I sold my 94 for $4500 and have seen them for $3500.
Something to think about.
I only gave $7K for my 99 F550.
You could be in a nice rig very reasonable. - billtexExplorer II

Yeah, IIRC Bigfoot (and maybe NL) make (made)campers to fit that truck...used to see one around here...

- recyclerExplorerthat camper weighs nearly as much as the dakota plus the base is 48" wide your dakota's bed is only about 46" wide between the wheel wells.. that camper is larger than my 11fk franklin and like mike mck i am going to a f550 for safety with mine..
so no it won't work get bigger truck or find smaller camper - mike_mckExplorerThe caribou requires a 8 ft bet and a 1 ton truck. I hauled mine with a 94 F350 for a few years. No problems but wanted to pull a 1500 lb car hauler and 3800 lb race truck so moved up to a F550 for the safety factor.
There is no way your Dakota can handle the caribou - insp1505ExplorerIf you put it on a trailer and tow it it would be compatible but that kind of defeats the purpose of a TC. An 11 foot TC is 1-ton full size long bed pick up territory. Your Dakota would not carry it and you would not like it if you could even get it to fit in the bed. Sorry, you need a bigger truck for this camper. There are some small TC that may work but not this one or consider a small travel trailer if you are stuck with the truck. Good luck.
