I totally disagree with you. I had a 1973 Dodge Tradesman van only minor problems (ballast resistor every couple years). It stayed on the road until around 2001 or 2002. When it had to be retired due to rust from the salty roads of PA. Next one was a 1997 Ram Van with V-6, traded that in for a 1999 Ram Van with the 360 because I went to a larger trailer. No problems with either one. Now have a 2012 Ram 1500 and just replaced the original battery last weekend, battery was going bad, I could hear the starter slowing down, otherwise no other problems. I would no buy another Ford, owned several and all fell apart.
