The memory foam is easy to cut and the regular foam you can get from fabric stores cuts well with a serated knife.
Someone here posted that as there were only two of them they made the dinette bed into a full time bed and sat on the sofa to eat their meals. Sounds like a good idea to me. If you do that do not go for two inch memory foam or plain foam, go thicker.
Oh Yes, certainly is best to go thicker for making this more of a full time bed, I would suggest 5in as a min and preferably 6 to 9 is more ideal.

Prices are fair. I ordered a 2 Inch Mattress topper that fits over my dinette cushions. This takes all the cracks out and helps to hold everything in place. I could easily just sleep on the topper, but then would have to figure out what to do with all the cushions. When the dinette is not being used as a bed, I simply roll up the topper and store it under the dinette seat.
- wanderingbobExplorer III CHECK THRIFT SHOPS FOR MINE !Usually a queen size and then cut to fit . Cuts easy and clean with an electric carving knife .But then again , I am a cheap S.O.B. and buy every thing cept food at thrift shops .
- 2012ColemanExplorer IIHow about an air mattress? You may not find an exact but... Easier storage?
- lgarciaExplorerMy dinette bed was an odd size - full xl 54x80 - so 2"-4" memory foam toppers at Kmart, Big Lots etc. never were the right size.
Got tired of being uncomfortable. Bought an 8" memory foam mattress from Wayfair after much Internet searching that was our 54x80 size. We put it on top of the cushions and while tall, is still lower than our house memory foam bed. As the sofa is at right angles to the foot of the bed, it makes a back rest if one is stretched out on the sofa.
Just spent 12 days on it and slept well. It could even be taken out of the TT if I want to go back to a dinette as it is more flexible than an innerspring mattress.

- Andym133ExplorerGo to local foam & fabric shop and get them to cut one for you. Roll it up when not in use then take it out and put a sheet over it, there ya go!
