..I don't know of any state where you would have to get a special license to tow with a 1 ton SRW truck....Most where you even use a dually don't require it. If towing your own personal RV for recreational use, I've seen Kenworths towing 45' 5th. wheels that don't have to stop at weigh stations or require special license IF only towing their own personal RV for their own personal use.
You should be able to call your local DMV and get any information you need on the topic for your state...probably even bring the regs up on your computer. I can pull them up for any state to see what is needed for what.
