2500 series trucks are usually the same as their 3500 counterparts with only one exception. The rear springs are heavier on the 3500 series. All else is exactly the same. In Minnesota there are a few areas around the Twin Cities that will not allow any vehicles that are licensed over 9,000# GW on those roads. Otherwise you have no restrictions. The one thing you will notice is the license plate on a one ton are based on the weight of the vehicle not the sale price. Your one-ton plates will cost about 25% or even less than a 2500 series counterpart.
