If have advertisments such as POLARIS or a JOHN DEERE decal on yur vehicle or RV you wil be required to weigh but you better have logs books or proof that you are not a commercial vehicle if they are asked for. If you are using a company vehicle to tow your RV and it has the companies logo on it but you are pulling your own rv with it, you will have to pull in to weigh but may be required to produce a log book and registration ect., and in that event you could be determined to be under hours of service laws. Bottom line is that if its your personal family vehicle and rv, then just pass the weigh station by unless it specifially says trucks buses and RV's must weigh.
Sorry if this is rehashing old info, but I haven't found a succinct summary.
I'm about to pull the trigger on a new Chevy 3500 SRW diesel :). I've seen contradictory information on special considerations for a 3500 vs a 2500. My question is what "special" things do I need to know about the difference between driving a 3/4T vs a 1T?
Specifically where do I find 'definitive' information?
I've heard comments about pulling in to weigh stations, road restrictions, etc. Bottom line is what (if any) special things does a 3500 badge bring into play vs a 2500 badge?
Thanks,
Ron
