My Chevy came with an adapter as well, but no where in the manual or the sticker on the hitch states the rating is de-rated when using the adapter.
As part of the new trailer deal, I did negotiate a Reese Titan 2.5" shank. I still need to swap out the shank as there was a mix up with it coming in on time. So not report of actually using it, YET! Lol
