Oh, to be in Hanksville, even at $3.89. You are blessed. I'm in murky, cloudy Illinois where our legislature posts some of the highest fuel taxes in America. And where they have kept out the frackers so far, though that is about to change... I think.
I know there are a lot of TCers in this countryside who think more than twice about getting on the road when it costs $130 to fill up your tank. They sit home rather than travel to Hanksville.
High fuel prices affect everyone, especially the hard working folks who are the electricians, carpenters and other trades. I use our truck for both work and to find a place in the sun with my TC. I'm awfully lucky. But wrongheaded government decisions have had some terrible affects on our retired sisters and brothers who want to keep on trucking.
We should enjoy this moment for all its worth. I know we're going to.
