20,000 Teton 5er - Truck Needed (legally)

If I buy a 20,000 pound Teton 5er, what is the minimum truck requirement to remain within combined vehicle weight? 350, 450, 550, ... thanks!

  • That's what I'm talking 'bout!

Sheer weight and bigger tires make for a very comfortable ride. For handling and comfort, the greater the weight ratio of TV to RV the better.

I drove an F450 @ 9300lb for quite some time, but the difference between that, and 11.2lb MDT is night and day.
  • The 13 or 14 RAM Dually will easily and legally handle that RV.

Our combo is 28K+ and the RV is 18K+. The truck handles the RV with ease in all conditions.
  • Keep going. MDT like mine. For that weight I'd also be looking at a converted Class 8 tractor.

I wouldn't even consider a "pickup" for that weight.
