2002 Wildwood...What did I just do?

I recently bought my first RV, a 2002 27ft. Wildwood. While draining the antifreeze I pulled what I thought were two termination valves. But only one was a T-valve the other was something else and now it won't go back into it's slot. It is a 4 or 5 inch metal rod with a black plastic T-handle on the end located in the same area as the holding tanks. It goes through the chassis and into the underside of the body and is held to the chassis by a nut. Does anyone know what it is and how vital it is to the RV? Will it be safe to travel with it sticking out? How do I reinsert it?
  • If it is a direct valve to a tank, I think its the gray tank, because when I flush the toilet nothing drains until I open the other valve.
  • I think the end results might be the same as the movie RV with the late Robin Williams. Would you please video this and post it when you are done?
  • Is the valve stuck closed with the handle pulled out? I'd replace it before the trip if you plan to use water.
  • I re-read the post...that's your waste tank valve for sure. Now you need to figure out if it was the black tank valve (big) or grey tank valve (small).
