Hey guys,Have a possible shot at picking up a mint 2003 2500hd CC 4x4 Duramax. Got 112k on it, not sure about the injectors being replaced yet or not. It's at a stearliship, they want 18000 for it... I won't pay that price, but am really looking at this truck. It has pulled a fiver before owned by a retired couple. The salesman will pull the gm service records for me. It has a clean car fax with some records of service. It looks as though it had been serviced regularly. Any other issues that I should look out for? We had an 01 and I think this his the same generation of duramax. The dash did work fine, I am going back today at 330 and drive it with my wife. What's your thoughts?

i have a 2002 duramax /allison purchased new in 2002no problems other than the front wheel bearing hub assembly.i have had 8 trucks 8 lug axles since my first new car a c20 suburban big block 402 .i was buying a new pickup every 5 years until i bought my duramax.this thing is so good i have not found a reason to replace it .i find it quieter than my previous big block gassers on the highway , especially when towing my boat .the 5 speed allison is the best tranny for towing i have used . great 1st gear and excellent compression braking .i used to drive very fast over these Oregon 2 lane highways , even when towing .i stopped when diesel became $ 4 a gallon .for that reason i find 520 foot pounds torque more than adequate .i need to slow down so i have not switched to the newer 765 foot pound version.a good upgrade for me was to go to the LT 265/75R16 LRE Michelin highway tires on 8 inch wide wheels. the stock 245/75r16e on 6.5 inch wheels do not handle near as well .the low allison first gear makes the switch from 245 to 265 a reaonable compromise .

Cool to hear, I called a diesel mech friend of the family, told him about it as well. I have a friend at church that wants my truck so I could sell mine outright to him and get this truck within my price range. Was looking at the newer version of my truck to,purchase next year... But cant afford the price there asking. So I may go back to pulling with diesel again....am happy with the 6.0 gas but like I said this one has got me thinking...

The 03 was good year. It gave you the updated interior, LB7 which is easy to massage electronically for more power if your so inclined. The only downside is the injectors are harder to get at if that's needed (as are all LB7's). I had an 03 and put just under 100K on it and never had an issue with anything. Great mileage, decent power (I left it stock).

I have 250000 on my 03 with original injectors. Runs great.
