5400 sounds pretty light to me. Get a real weight to be sure.
My 06 duramax weighs very close to 7000, and the diesel is not 1600 lbs more than a 8.1.
My weight is 7000 also.....I bought 2008 chev one ton steel wheels and mounted 285 on them. 3700 lbs. capacity. Love it. Big tires and smooth ride for my 3000 lb camper.
