HI, I just purchased Nov/13 a 2012 86SBS Adventurer camper.It looked beautiful and was told it was like new, owner used it only a few times..To make this short, I have only sat in it 45min.never had a chance to take it out..It has been back to dealer 4 times with several problems. Picked it up brought it home went to take it off truck "jacks failed" as well as fuses blowing tail light as well..They had to repair.. happyjack-frozen/rusted..pigtail shorted fuses..repaired..Then the other side of jacks- same thing..each visit to shop was 1.5 weeks
I also have a 3/4 ton HD GMC sierra.The salesman told me truck would handle it No problem! come to find out- I now have sense had to add leaf springs as well as airbags due to weight issues...So now that shop had my camper another week 1/2 for springs+bags..my cost!
So I got my camper back 3 days ago...I went shopping- new sheets memoryfoam matt.went to put them on..."black mold" water running down corner cab.above bed! So I opened cab.door- water visible,wall soft pulled back to expose inner wall.. black mold water damage! Took 10ft. ladder to check roof out..noticed No antenna! It had been ripped off leaving an open hole exposed to rain! went to check radio as well..speakers are blown ! So took it back to shop..The very next day I surprised a morning visit..they without my knowledge took front cap off..The inside front as well as sides were full of black mold with hair on it, water under bed..obviously had been leaking water forever.
I feel that the product was defective as well as the salesman failed to inform me that the unit was in fact neglected and misused..all the way from telling me my truck would handled the weight, No problem!
Now they want to remove and replace some rotted wood and that it was no big deal..and kinda yelled at me, "it has metal sides"- No worries!
So now I have no camper! They have had the camper this whole time other than a few days..i never had a chance to look at it as well take it out of my drive way!!!I think because I am a woman they are trying to take advantage of that? Or has anybody else had these issues and what should I do?
