Hello Again.
The 1996 V-10 was the largest power plant on the street then. The V-10, 8.0 ltr. 488 ci power. There were 2 things I was looking for. First! I didn't want to spend an additional money to alter items so the truck would pull. And back then there was very little in the after market. My pick was to simply add water, change oil, add fuel, and go! And for the last sixteen years that is what I've done.
The second! Was where was the transmission cooler located. In the radiator or not? Dodge made is stand alone. NO add heat to the coolant.
At 80,000 miles the trans did fail 3rd/OD section, AAmco fixed! Its there's to keep fixing if there is any additional problems. I did add a limited slip the the rear in 2012.
And next month I will up grade the rear axel to bisc brakes.
I don't know where DODGE got the idea to keep a 7,400 brake system on the 8800HD series PU. But for what ever the reason. I have up-grade mine. to best I can.
