I don't like the auto trans in either but The 04 has the 48 that can be built bullet proof. You can fix it up if it isn't broke for probably 2500 or there about but if you go power crazy you can spend 5 or 7 k on the tranny. I hated the trans in my 03 it didn't have enough gears.

True enough. I had a 2006.5 that ripped apart its pump shaft immediately after the warranty expired. We got a bulletproof unit from Goerend and it's been perfect ever since. It's been through four lift pumps, though.
