2004 Jayco Eagle 298 BHS Factory Heated Tanks??

Wanted to go camping this weekend at Bay Springs or Tishomingo State Park, but supposed to freeze in NE Mississippi, but i don't want to re-winterize afterwards. 2004 Brochure says "New for 2004 Heated and enclosed fresh water tank & holding tanks".

So how can i know if it has heaters, are they working and how to turn ON, and any other FYIs i should be aware of??

Thanks.

  • You need to find out what KIND of tank heaters you have. All of the older Jaycos simply used the furnace to vent heat into the basement so without the furnace running, no heated tanks. If they've gone more modern and installed heaters specifically for the tanks they are likely fully automatic on the 120 volt side and have a manual switch for the 12 volt side. Begin by finding out what kind of heat your trailer has.
  • A quick look under the trailer will tell you if they are actually enclosed or not.
  • Good info...and obviously from experience I mean look at that map!! thanks.
  • IF it had 'heating pads' there would be an ON/OFF switch to activate them (then they are cycled on/off via a thermostat)

Most common is the 'furnace duct' to enclosed underbelly area.
    No furnace running....no heat

    We have 'duct' heating.
We have been in -17*F temps and no problems BUT furnace ran frequently (30lb propane cylinder every other day) :B
  • Nevermind... Did a search:
