The Aspen Triple Slide is hardly downsizing from his already owned 1030 and that's what he said he wanted to do. The Aspen is a very tall TC which makes rig tend to be tippy unless it's on a dually and it has a 3,000 lbs base weight dry and stripped before any options are added. Will be way over 4,000 lbs ready to travel which certainly means a dually. Being so high on a shorter wheel base creates other issues. It will also lower the fuel mileage since the wind resistance at highway speeds is approx 3 times the weight rolling resistance power required.
Adding in the very high cost of the Aspen TS, what would he gain as it's too heavy for a SRW truck and a dually has many other issues plus the lesser fuel economy when the TC isn't even on? Many things to consider!
