2004 lance 815 8' 6

I have found a 2004 Lance 815, the sales person said it would work on a 2008 Ford f150, 6' 1/2' box? We would like to use the camper on either our sons 2008 f150, short box, 5.4l engine and my f350, long box diesel. Could not find if the f150 would handle the camper, I know my F350 would not have a problem. Both trucks are 4 x 4.
  • I've had my 04 for 6 years now. Its on its third truck all 1/2 ton chevys. I'll be getting an 2014 in the fall. I have air bags and I run load range e tires. I have never had an issue. I've been up and down the rockies north south east west. Just returned from the smokies, leaving for SD next week. The camper has been all I need. I learned to like with the small tanks. You know its on there and drive acordingly. Been a cdl holder for 36 years, dont drive full time but I've operated some rigs that were a challenge. This setup is nothing. Every time I get a different truck it seems to handle it a little better. I think its a good combination if you are willing to put up with some of the inconvienence of size.

The Lance 815 was design to fit either a long or short bed truck 1/2 ton truck. I'v had my Lance 815 since new (2002) and it started out on a 1984 chevie 1/2 ton, your newer trucks will do better. Keep in mind that with the Ford trucks as the years pasted by the cab height increased and you may need to rise that Lance up to have enough clearage over the truck cab. For short bed use Lance had some storage pods for that model.
