2005 4Runner with V6 Engine
Hello all. My wife and I are looking to get into our first Travel Trailer. We would like to keep my 2005 4Runner, (V6 4.0L/OEM tow package w/transmission cooler) for a few years before having to purchase a new vehicle for towing/everyday.
The specifications from the owner's manual says 5000lbs max, but has a caveat of 6700lbs with a Weight Distribution hitch.
The units we are looking at are 21-23 feet (cabin) with dry weights of 3400 lbs to 3700 lbs. I know us, even with a full clean water tank, I cannot see us hauling more than a few hundred pounds of stuff for our long weekends.
I'm looking for thoughts regarding using the 4Runner as a tow vehicle for the next 2-3 years. Be gentle folks, I'm new to this.
Thanks in advance.
