2005 Arctic Fox 22H Ravel Trailer

We have just recently bought a used 2005 Arctic Fox 22H Ravel Trailer. The Carefree Colorado Patio Awning has been damaged. It looks like most of the parts are there but the aluminum roll up tube has been folded in half. Also one of the top mount support brackets is missing and no awning fabric.
The question is would it be better to buy a new awning or find dealer to buy parts and fix what I have?

camping World has a $29 installfor any item. I am taking my Fun Finder in today to have it measured for a new Electric Awning. Press a button and bingo it will open in 15 seconds. I can hardley wait. This is our early christmas gift.

If you are getting the Travel-R, look at the Direct-Response version. This adds a vibration sensor in the power-head that auto retracts if the wind starts vibrating the awning.

The problem you might have is fishing the wires.

  • A new awning.......

By the time you by parts get them installed and then find out that other hardware is bent/tweaked and have to buy more parts.....

    A new awning......
  • great choice (the Fox)

Replace with the best awning you can afford
  • Here is what I would do. Go to their web site download what you have, and see what parts you need. Find a part dealer and see what parts will cost you. But that is just the parts, Warning!!! changing those tubes can be dangerous because of the springs inside of the tube. Usually not a DIY project for average RV'r IMO. I've watched it done one time and I won't feel I can do it without some experienced help. There is also a couple of youtubes on it.
I also have carefree and don't like it. My old A&E was much better IMO.
Also it is the only awning we've ever had where I plastic coated the directions and not only carry them along but follow them everytime due to the flimsiness of this product and by the way what it costs to replace (not cheap). As a matter of fact I use golf tees as a chock blocks for the little clip things at end of support arms. That was after it fell down the first time.
