Not sure where to go to get this checked. My SUV has always been a great driver and provided 20 mpg in town and highway without towing.
I don't want to open a can of worms, but I put Sea Foam in the tank less than two months ago and the mileage has tanked an is now averaging 14mpg. What did I do wrong? I put it in my four-door hatchback and everything is fine. Same gas station, same fuel, different results.
The SUV has been a great tow vehicle, we have traveled tens of thousands of miles without trouble, one minor trans issue two years ago and three weeks ago the ABS module went out. The truck has 300,000 kms on it.
Should I take it to the dealer for a complete inspection? I am measuring mpg by the computer as well as by tracking actual miles per tank.
Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
