2005 fleewood mallard

Just looking for reviews on 2005 fleetwood mallard
Thanks
  • My 2004 Fleetwood Pioneer is very similar to Mallards of the same generation. Great entry level trailer but slack construction practices meant many potential leak opportunities which could be disastrous for a wood frame. I inspected mine when new and found multiple potential problems, sealed them, and have not had a leak. Ever.
    We still enjoy our trailer.
  • Model years for travel trailers run a year ahead. The 2019 models are coming out now. That trailer is close to, if not past, it's 14th birthday. At that age, whatever name is on it, has nothing to do with it's condition, reliability, or longevity. It's all about how well it has been maintained.

More important question you should be asking is, what to look for on a used travel trailer.

    Signs of leaks?
    Evidence of past repairs?
    Proof of wheel bearing maintenance?
    Tire age and condition?
    Full systems check?
    Condition of existing caulking?
    Frame rust?
  • My kids have one that I found for them... Might be an /02. They like the trailer, and like trailers, they had some leaks. Last year they had a friend do a major rebuild on all the seams, windows and doors. It was not cheap, but worth doing for sure.

The front storage was the worst area I think.
